
Udaipur Marriott Hotel has announced the appointment of Ashish Kumar as its new General Manager. In this position, he will oversee the hotel’s overall operations, focusing on strengthening business performance, reinforcing the brand’s market presence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences across all areas of the property.
Ashish brings more than 27 years of experience in the hospitality sector, with a career spanning luxury and upscale full-service hotels in India as well as international markets. With a strong background in Rooms Division, he has developed expertise in hotel operations, revenue management, asset optimization, and strategic leadership. His professional journey also includes managing pre-opening projects, large-scale renovations, and complex hotel operations.
Over the years, Ashish has worked with several leading hospitality brands such as Hyatt, Taj, and ITC Hotels, including a notable 17-year tenure with Hyatt where he held a range of senior leadership roles. Prior to joining Udaipur Marriott Hotel, Ashish played a key role in driving revenue growth across multiple departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets, and other outlets. By implementing effective cost management and operational strategies, he contributed to stronger financial performance, improving both GOP and EBITDA.
He is an alumnus of the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), where he earned a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management in 1999. He later pursued further studies in Business Management from the All India Council for Management Studies in 2001 and completed a program in Personal Management and Industrial Relations in 2005.
Known for his focus on brand standards, team development, and stakeholder collaboration, he has consistently built strong, results-driven teams in competitive hospitality environments.
