Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui has announced the appointment of Michael Casey as its new Resort Manager, bringing nearly two decades of experience with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Having built his career across some of the brand’s most celebrated luxury properties, Casey joins the award-winning luxury resort in Koh Samui, Thailand, with a leadership approach centered on genuine hospitality, meaningful guest connections and creating memorable experiences inspired by each destination.
A Hospitality Journey Inspired by Four Seasons
For Michael Casey, hospitality has always been more than a profession—it has been a lifelong passion shaped by personal experiences.
Growing up in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United States, he developed an appreciation for different cultures and the importance of human connection. A family tradition of visiting Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence every month introduced him to luxury hospitality at an early age and left a lasting impression.
“It felt like stepping into another world,” he recalls. “Everything flowed effortlessly, but what stayed with me most was how genuinely cared for we always felt.” Those early visits sparked a passion for hospitality that would eventually lead him to build a long and successful career with Four Seasons.
Nearly Two Decades with Four Seasons
After graduating from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston, Casey joined Four Seasons Hotel Houston while still completing his studies.
He began as a pool attendant before gaining experience across the fitness centre and front office, learning firsthand that exceptional guest experiences are often created through thoughtful service and attention to detail.
Since joining Four Seasons in 2006, Casey has held leadership roles at several renowned luxury hotels and resorts, including Regent Singapore (formerly a Four Seasons hotel), Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, and, most recently, Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam.
Each destination strengthened his belief that the finest hospitality reflects the culture, people and character of the place itself. “Luxury isn’t measured by grandeur, but by how a guest feels long after they leave,” he says. “There is a wonderful sense of ease on Koh Samui. The island encourages people to slow down, reconnect with nature and spend meaningful time together. That’s exactly the kind of experience we want every guest to leave with. Guests don’t simply visit Koh Samui—they become part of its rhythm, its culture and its natural beauty.”

Putting People at the Heart of Every Stay
Casey believes outstanding guest experiences begin behind the scenes, with a motivated and empowered team.
“Every employee contributes to the guest experience, whether or not they ever meet a guest. Creating memorable experiences begins by creating an environment where people feel valued, trusted, and inspired. When our teams thrive, our guests naturally feel it.” His leadership style reflects the Four Seasons Golden Rule, encouraging collaboration, mutual respect, and genuine care across every department.
Looking ahead, Casey hopes guests leave with lasting memories that go beyond their holiday. “I hope guests leave Koh Samui feeling more connected — to the island, to the people they’ve met and to one another.”
Discovering the Spirit of Koh Samui
Among the many spaces across the resort, Casey has a special appreciation for the Arrival Sala, where every guest’s journey begins.
“Arrival Sala sets the stage for everything that follows. It’s where guests first experience the beauty, warmth, and sense of calm that define Koh Samui. It immediately sets the tone for the rest of their stay.” Wellness also plays an important role in his own travel experiences. At Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, one experience continues to stand out. “Sound healing is one of my favourite experiences. It clears the mind, helps you refocus your energy and reminds you to simply be present.”
An enthusiastic traveller and aquatic sports lover, Casey is looking forward to embracing island life while working alongside the resort’s team to continue delivering personalised luxury experiences that celebrate the beauty and culture of Koh Samui.
“Koh Samui has a remarkable ability to slow people down in the best possible way. I’m excited to work with our team to help guests discover not only the beauty of the island, but also the sense of connection, care and belonging that makes every stay truly memorable.”
As Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui continues to strengthen its position among Thailand’s leading luxury island resorts, Casey’s extensive experience and guest-first philosophy are expected to further enhance the resort’s reputation for world-class hospitality and unforgettable stays.
