Known for the island’s proximity to Singapore, Bintan makes for a dreamy addition for travellers seeking sun, sand and the sea. Marking its maiden participation in OTM 2026 (Outbound Travel Mart), Bintan Resorts joined the Singapore Pavilion to connect with the exhibition’s diverse audience. The participation reinforced Bintan’s strong connectivity from Singapore as an extended island holiday for Indian travellers.
Bintan welcomed over 13,000 Indian visitors in 2025, driven by growing awareness in India and competitive pricing. Building on this momentum, the focus for 2026 remains clear: expand FIT traffic and further strengthen its positioning in the MICE segment.
With visa-on-arrival access for Indians, seamless one-hour ferry connectivity from Singapore and a well-established portfolio of beachfront resorts, golf courses and integrated event venues, Bintan presents a compelling short-haul island proposition. Its signature sporting events, including the Bintan Triathlon, Marathon and Tour de Bintan, further enhance its appeal among experiential and wellness-focused travellers, reflecting the growing shift in Indian outbound travel towards active and purpose-driven itineraries.
At OTM 2026, Bintan Resorts concentrated on expanding its trade network and deepening partnerships with India’s outbound travel fraternity. Commenting on the participation, Mr. Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer, Bintan Resorts, said, “India remains one of our most dynamic growth markets. Our presence at OTM 2026 with Singapore Tourism projected the twin destination offering to India’s travel fraternity, supporting our long-term commitment to strengthening trade partnerships and increasing visibility across key Indian cities. We also aim to scale B2C presence of Bintan in the year to bring more awareness and visibility to the destination’s diverse offerings.”
Backed by focused trade engagement and clear segment priorities, Bintan Resorts is poised to scale its India business further in 2026.
