The Ascott Limited has announced the appointment of Rohit Dar as Vice President & Head of South Asia, marking a strategic move to accelerate its regional expansion and strengthen leadership across key markets.

In his new role, Rohit will lead Ascott’s growth agenda in South Asia, focusing on expanding its footprint, enhancing operational performance, and building stronger partnerships with owners and stakeholders. His leadership is expected to play a key role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth in one of its most dynamic regions.

With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rohit brings a wealth of operational and commercial expertise. Before joining Ascott, he served as Senior Regional Director of Operations at Hilton India, where he oversaw a diverse portfolio of brands across South India. During his tenure, he drove business performance while strengthening relationships with hotel owners and partners.

Earlier, Rohit held General Manager roles with Marriott International, where he led prominent properties such as The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace and Jaipur Marriott Hotel. He began his career with The Oberoi Group, spending 18 years across both hotel operations and corporate roles, developing deep expertise in service excellence, team leadership, and performance-driven management.

Ascott continues to build strong momentum in South Asia, supported by its diverse portfolio of brands including Ascott, Somerset, Citadines, Oakwood, and lyf. In India alone, the company currently operates 985 keys across seven properties in six cities, with a robust pipeline of over 5,000 keys under development—highlighting its ambitious expansion plans in the region.

The company is actively growing its presence across major gateway cities as well as emerging Tier 2 and Tier 3 destinations, in line with shifting travel trends. With a clear focus on securing new projects, strengthening brand visibility, and delivering high-quality guest experiences, Ascott is well positioned to meet the rising demand for premium accommodation across South Asia.
