When my dear friend Soumitra Pahari, Resort Manager, Mercure Maldives, told me that this was an adult-only hotel, I was surprised. With 750+ Mercure hotels worldwide, this may be the only adult Mercure property that I am aware of. From Pullman, Mercure Maldives Kooddoo Resort is just 20 minutes by motorboat. And as he said this, we witnessed a flight landing just adjacent to the resort.

On the F&B front, they have 2 restaurants – Alita Restaurant, an all-day dining restaurant with a buffet concept providing an unobstructed view of the lagoon, and Vista Restaurant, an overwater restaurant providing Italian flavors. The Pool Bar is another attraction for the guests. Mercure also offers a Floating Breakfast, giving a start to a romantic day in the intimacy of the turquoise blue waters, or candlelit moments on the beach with a special romantic dinner setup.

After a great stay at Mercure, I left to catch my flight to Male, for the first time witnessing the flight landing as we departed from the resort, just 25 minutes before takeoff. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime romantic getaway for guests.
