Mövenpick Resort & Spa Bintan Lagoon has opened on the northern coast of Bintan, Indonesia, bringing a new beachfront resort option for travellers looking for an island escape within easy reach of Singapore.
Accessible by ferry from Singapore, the new Bintan resort combines accommodation, dining, wellness, recreation, golf and meetings and events facilities across its beachfront setting. The resort is designed to cater to families, couples, groups, business travellers and corporate guests, offering a range of experiences for both leisure and work.
With 408 rooms and suites, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Bintan Lagoon offers accommodation overlooking either the resort gardens or the sea. Each room features a private balcony or terrace, while categories range from Deluxe Rooms and Premium Terrace Rooms to Junior, Executive, Ambassador and Presidential Suites. Contemporary interiors are designed to suit both short island getaways and longer stays.
Dining is a major part of the resort experience, with several restaurants and venues offering different cuisines and settings throughout the property.
Port 19, the all-day dining restaurant, serves Indonesian, Asian and international cuisine, with live cooking stations adding to the dining experience. Yokatta Izakaya & Bar focuses on Japanese favourites, including sushi, udon, yakitori and sake.

Klon-Tong Deli takes inspiration from Bintan in the 1980s, serving pastries, ice cream, local specialities and coffee. Guests can also head to the Recreation Village Sports Lounge for casual dining and live sports, while Ocean Pool Bar offers drinks and light bites from its swim-up setting.
At the beachfront, Soñada Beach Club spans two storeys and serves Pan-Asian and Italian dishes alongside cocktails. The venue also features a pool, beachfront cabanas and weekend DJ sessions, creating a more social setting by the sea.
The resort also brings Mövenpick’s signature Chocolate Hour to Bintan. The daily ritual gives guests an opportunity to come together over chocolate and adds one of the brand’s familiar experiences to the new property.
Beyond its restaurants and beach facilities, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Bintan Lagoon offers a wide range of activities for different types of travellers. The Recreation Village combines fitness, sports, family activities and casual dining, with yoga and Pilates sessions, a fitness centre and spaces for organised activities and relaxation.
Families travelling with children can make use of Little Birds Club, which features indoor and outdoor play areas, arts and crafts and interactive activities. The resort also offers swimming pools, kayaking, paddleboarding and other non-motorised water sports.
Golf is another major attraction, with guests having access to Bintan Lagoon International Golf. The facility features two 18-hole golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Ian Baker-Finch, adding to Bintan’s appeal among golf travellers.
For wellness and relaxation, Shantara Spa & Wellness offers private treatment rooms, couples’ rooms, reflexology and facial treatments, as well as sauna and steam facilities. Its treatment menu brings together massage, movement and wellness rituals inspired by the island and wider regional traditions.

The new Bintan resort also caters to the growing meetings and incentives market, with more than 2,000 square metres of meetings and events space. The centrepiece is a 900-square-metre Grand Ballroom, supported by flexible function spaces suitable for conferences, corporate meetings, incentive groups, weddings and social occasions.
Outdoor spaces across the beachfront property provide additional settings for team activities, celebrations and events, giving organisers a combination of indoor facilities and island surroundings.
