Kissimmee, Florida - Indian Travellers

Indian travelers are building a surprisingly strong bond with Central Florida, and the latest research from Experience Kissimmee finally puts numbers behind the trend. The study explores who these visitors are, what motivates their journeys, and why Kissimmee, with its sunshine, theme parks, and family-friendly energy, has become a favorite among one of the world’s fastest-growing outbound markets.

According to the findings, the average Indian traveler visiting the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford region in 2024 is between 35 and 39 years old. Most travel solo (70%), while others arrive with family or friends (18.6%). Middle-aged travelers with young children make up nearly one-third of the market, carefully planning their holidays almost three months in advance and booking flights about six weeks before takeoff.

It’s no surprise that sightseeing (93%) and shopping (82%) dominated the list of must-do activities. Theme parks, the heart of Central Florida’s charisma, attract more than half (56%) of Indian visitors. For many, the trip doesn’t stop at Kissimmee; 23% add Miami to their journey for that classic Florida mix of beaches and vibrant nightlife.

Digital inspiration shapes much of this journey and inspiration. Platforms like YouTube (95%), Instagram (92%), and Facebook (89%) play a huge role with most travelers discovering new ideas and attractions through content shared by friends and family. Indian travelers aren’t just browsing- their decisions are actively influenced online!

These trips are long and immersive, too. On average, Indian visitors stay an impressive 31 nights, spending $4,339 per person and $5,838 per travel party. Accommodation takes up the largest share of their travel budget (66.9%), followed by food and beverage (12.5%) and recreation activities (1.6%). A majority of people, about 85%, choose hotels or motels, usually for six nights, while 8% prefer vacation homes and choose to stay longer, for around nine nights.
