JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa has appointed Simone Farci as General Manager, effective July 20, 2026. With more than two decades of international experience in luxury hospitality, Farci brings a strong background in resort operations, strategic management and guest experiences to one of Italy’s most distinctive luxury resorts.

Located on Isola delle Rose, a private island in the Venetian Lagoon, JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa offers a different take on a luxury stay in Venice. Farci’s appointment comes as the resort continues to build on its reputation for high-end hospitality, wellness, dining and destination-led experiences.

Farci joins JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa from InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, where he served as General Manager. During his tenure, he worked to strengthen the hotel’s standing in Rome’s competitive luxury hospitality market while overseeing its day-to-day operations and commercial performance.

Originally from Sardinia, Farci has built an international career spanning Europe and the Caribbean, managing luxury hotels and large-scale resorts in diverse markets.

His professional background includes more than a decade with IHG Hotels & Resorts, where he held leadership positions across several international properties. Among them were General Manager roles at InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa and Holiday Inn Resort Aruba – Beach Resort & Casino by IGH. These roles gave Farci extensive experience in managing complex resort operations, leading diverse teams and balancing guest expectations with business performance.

Farci holds a degree in Economics and a CHA® (Certified Hotel Administrator) certification from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. He later expanded his hospitality expertise with a master’s in Hospitality Management and completed a General Manager’s Program (GMP) at Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.

Across his career, Farci has worked on hotel openings, resort management, repositioning projects and organizational transformation, giving him a broad understanding of the operational and commercial demands of modern luxury hospitality. His leadership approach places a strong emphasis on collaboration, team development and service standards. He is also known for creating work environments where teams can perform at their best while keeping the guest experience at the center of operations.

At JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, Farci will oversee the resort’s operations and lead its team as the property continues to evolve its luxury offering in one of Europe’s most sought-after destinations.
