Aleph Hospitality Appoints Rob Kucera as Regional Vice President for East and South Africa

Aleph Hospitality, the largest independent hotel management company in the Middle East and Africa, has appointed Rob Kucera as Regional Vice President for East and South Africa. Based in Nairobi, Kucera joins the company as Aleph Hospitality continues to expand its hotel portfolio and strengthen its presence across some of Africa’s fastest growing hospitality markets.

With more than 20 years of experience in hotel operations and leadership, Kucera will oversee a diverse portfolio of more than 25 hotels representing six international brands across 20 destinations in nine countries. His appointment comes at a key stage in Aleph Hospitality’s growth strategy as the company increases its footprint across East and South Africa.

In his new role, Kucera will be responsible for the financial, commercial and operational performance of Aleph Hospitality’s regional portfolio. He will also lead the development of future hotel projects, strengthen partnerships with hotel owners and support the company’s long term expansion across the region.

His responsibilities also include overseeing regional human resources, developing future hospitality talent and creating high performing teams, while supporting initiatives that deliver lasting value to the communities surrounding each hotel.

Before joining Aleph Hospitality, Kucera served as Complex General Manager and District Director for East Africa at Radisson Hotel Group, where he oversaw hotels across Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at several leading luxury hotels, including Radisson Blu Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul, Pearl of Africa Hotel by Radisson Hotels in Kampala and The Westin Cape Town. He also served as Chief Operating Officer of Hospitality Property Fund, South Africa’s dedicated hotel REIT, and as Chairman of the FEDHASA Cape Board.

Bani Haddad, Founder and Co CEO of Aleph Hospitality, said, “East and Southern Africa is one of the fastest-growing markets for Aleph Hospitality, and this is a truly strategic appointment for the group as we deepen our presence in the region. Rob brings a rare combination of regional expertise and operational excellence, having led some of the most respected hotels across East Africa and beyond. His leadership will be instrumental as we scale our portfolio, strengthen relationships with our owners, and continue building strong, community-focused teams across the region.”

Kucera believes the region offers significant opportunities for both hotel owners and the wider hospitality industry. “It’s an extremely exciting time to join Aleph Hospitality. The company’s portfolio across East and Southern Africa is growing at an impressive pace, and I look forward to contributing and building on that momentum, supporting our General Managers and delivering outstanding results and building stronger teams for our owners and stakeholders across the region”, said Rob Kucera.

As Aleph Hospitality continues to expand across Africa, Kucera’s regional expertise and operational experience are expected to support the company’s next phase of growth while delivering stronger value for hotel owners, guests and local communities.
