Accor, a global hospitality leader, has announced the appointment of Ranju Alex as its new CEO for South Asia, overseeing India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The move marks a significant milestone for the group as it continues to expand its footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing hospitality markets.

With a strong presence of over 70 operating hotels and more than 30 in the pipeline across South Asia, Accor has become a trusted name in luxury and mid-scale hospitality. The appointment of Alex is set to accelerate the company’s growth trajectory and further strengthen its position in the region.

Ranju Alex is a highly respected hospitality professional with an illustrious career spanning over three decades. Prior to joining Accor, she served as Regional Vice President for South Asia at Marriott International, where she successfully managed operations for more than 170 hotels across the region.

Her journey began with The Oberoi Group in 1993, followed by multiple leadership roles at Marriott International, shaping her into one of the most recognized figures in the hotel industry. Recently, she was honored with the Bharat Gaurav Award, a prestigious recognition celebrating her contributions to the hospitality sector.

Accor and InterGlobe earlier this year announced the creation of a new joint venture consolidating all their businesses into a single entity/vehicle, subject to receiving the necessary regulatory approvals.
