
Marriott International Inc. has announced the expanded appointment of Silvio Rosenberger, who will assume the role of Market Vice President for the Maldives effective 1 January 2026. In this key leadership position, Rosenberger will oversee Marriott’s expanding portfolio and strategic operations across the Maldives, while continuing his current responsibilities as Vice President of Operations, Asia Pacific excluding China (APEC), based in Singapore. Marriott presently operates 11 properties across nine brands in the Maldives, with several new projects under development.
Rosenberger’s appointment builds on a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years with Marriott International, including over two decades in Asia. He began his journey with the company in Frankfurt as Financial Controller at Courtyard by Marriott before moving to Vietnam in 2003 as Director of Operations and Finance. Over the years, he has accumulated extensive operational and leadership experience across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Vietnam, and South Korea, serving in multiple General Manager and Managing Director roles at flagship hotels.
In his current role as Vice President of Operations, APEC, Silvio has been instrumental in enhancing regional performance, guiding multi-market operations, and elevating Marriott’s cross-brand execution. His extensive experience across luxury, premium, and lifestyle brands—paired with his cultural fluency and results-driven leadership—positions him strongly for his expanded responsibilities in the Maldives.
Over the course of his career, Silvio has led several of Marriott’s most dynamic and high-performing properties in Asia, including JW Marriott Hong Kong, JW Marriott Seoul, The Shanghai EDITION, W Shanghai – The Bund, and JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square. Renowned for improving both guest experience and business performance, he has also strengthened regional collaboration and helped shape the next generation of leaders through his active role in the Marriott Business Council. His contributions have earned him multiple accolades, underscoring his operational expertise and strategic vision across the region.
His deep expertise in operations, brand strategy, and food & beverage continues to shape his leadership as he takes on this expanded regional role.
