Marriott appoints Kiran Andicot as senior vice president for South Asia

Marriott International Inc. has announced the appointment of Kiran Andicot as Senior Vice President to lead its South Asia region. In this expanded leadership role, Kiran will oversee operations and development across Marriott International’s South Asia portfolio, focusing on aligning growth with performance, strengthening owner partnerships, accelerating hotel conversions and openings, and building a strong leadership pipeline across the region.

With close to three decades of experience in hospitality across India and South Asia, Kiran brings extensive expertise in hotel operations, consultancy, planning, feasibility, and development. He joined Marriott’s Development & Feasibility team in 2006 and has played a key role in the company’s sustained growth over the past 19 years.

His deep market understanding and strategic leadership have been critical in establishing Marriott International as the largest hospitality chain in India.

In his role leading Development for South Asia, Kiran has driven impressive growth in India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, signing more than 220 hotels across the region. In India alone, 2024 marked a record-breaking year under his leadership, with 42 new hotel signings and over 7,000 rooms. Earlier this year, Kiran also led a landmark deal with Concept Hospitality, affiliating The Fern portfolio of 115 properties with Series by Marriott, further strengthening the company’s position in the midscale and premium segments.

These signings are not only expanding Marriott’s footprint in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities such as Surat, Shimla, Jalandhar, and Coorg but also driving diversification into residences and long-stay segments. This growth aligns with Marriott’s vision of reaching beyond major metropolitan hubs to meet the evolving needs of travelers across South Asia.

Before joining Marriott, Kiran built a strong foundation in the hospitality sector with seven years in hotel operations at IHCL and Oberoi Hotels, followed by four years in real estate and hospitality consultancy with EY and HVS. His combined operational expertise and development experience have positioned him as a key leader in shaping Marriott’s strategy in South Asia.

“These accomplishments are a testament to Kiran’s deep understanding of South Asia markets, strong relationships with our owner partners, incisive business acumen and steady leadership.  I am confident that with Kiran’s vast expertise supported by our experienced leadership bench, will position Marriott well as we continue our trajectory of sustained growth in South Asia,” said Rajeev Menon, President Marriott International Asia Pacific excluding China.

With Kiran Andicot at the helm, Marriott International is set to accelerate its growth trajectory, strengthen partnerships, and further establish its leadership in the hospitality industry in India and South Asia.
