Margaritaville Beach House Key West Appoints Alin Bodea As General Manager

Alin Bodea joins Margaritaville Beach House Key West as General Manager, bringing 15 years of hospitality expertise to the iconic oceanfront resort.

Margaritaville Beach House Key West announced the appointment of Alin Bodea as General Manager of the 186-room oceanfront resort on Smathers Beach. In his new role, Bodea will lead day-to-day operations and oversee the resort’s hospitality team, with a focus on guest satisfaction, operational performance, and continued brand growth in The Florida Keys.

Bodea brings more than 15 years of hospitality experience spanning resort operations, guest experience, and team development. Most recently, he served as General Manager of the Kimpton Shorebreak Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, where he led operations, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategy. During his tenure, the hotel consistently earned 97% Associate Opinion Survey (AOS) scores and saw notable gains in online reputation, ranking among top properties on TripAdvisor. The resort’s signature restaurant also rose into TripAdvisor’s top five locally.

Previously, Bodea held senior leadership roles with HEI Hotels, including Hotel Manager and Director of Front Office at the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. Earlier in his career, he advanced through front office leadership positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, building a foundation in large-scale resort and luxury hotel operations.

Bodea holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from “Dunarea de Jos” University in Galati, Romania, and completed advanced coursework in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management through eCornell University. He is fluent in English and Romanian and conversational in Spanish.
