After an extensive renovation that seamlessly blends heritage charm with modern luxury, La Résidence Phou Vao will reopen its doors on November 1, 2025.

Once the official guesthouse for state visitors and dignitaries, this iconic hilltop retreat has been reimagined as a sanctuary of serenity, offering sweeping views of Luang Prabang’s UNESCO World Heritage temples and sacred mountains.

To celebrate the reopening, the property is launching its exclusive “One More Dawn” offer. Guests who book before October 31, 2025, for stays in November and December, will receive a complimentary third night with every two nights booked. The redesign is led by Sanya Souvanna Phouma, a direct descendant of the Laotian royal family, ensuring authenticity through traditional craftsmanship combined with contemporary sophistication.

Following its acquisition from Belmond, La Résidence Phou Vao is now part of HMD Asia, the group behind the award-winning Shinta Mani Hotels. The relaunch signals a new era for the property—positioning it as both a cultural icon and a modern sanctuary for discerning travellers.
