This sprawling establishment isn’t just another hotel – it’s a gateway to luxurious comfort and unparalleled event hosting. From its elegant suites to the state-of-the-art convention facilities, Gokulam Park & Convention Centre Kochi promises an experience that marries convenience with sophistication.
When I decided to cover Gokulam Grand Resort and Spa, Kumarakom, Anand Ramachandran, Cluster General Manager at Gokulam Park Sabari OMR & Gokulam Park Ashok Nagar, Chennai suggested that it would be a good idea to also visit Gokulam Park & Convention Centre Kochi as it has one of the largest convention centers. It was a very good suggestion as I was pretty impressed by not just the hotel but also the convention center.
Arriving at the Kochi airport in the evening, had a pretty smooth ride of 45 minute (25 kms). Jinosh Thomas, General Manager, Gokulam Park & Convention Centre Kochi was there to receive me and led me to my suite a Deluxe Suite Room with a comfortable living area. After chatting with the GM, I had dinner where the chef prepared one of the best Waldorf salad that I had – crunchy and tasty along with curd rice and the famous south Indian appalams (papad).
The next morning over breakfast met Joseph Skaria, Cluster Head – Sales, Sree Gokulam Hotels & Resorts who talked about promotion plans of the group, not just within India but also potential zones globally. He stressed on the importance of participating in Indian and International travel trade shows. Later he along with the GM took me on a show round of the property.
The hotel is a blend of modern and contemporary designs, ideal for both leisure and business travellers. “We are located just 5 kms away from the railway station and just 2 minutes from the new Kaloor metro station. Thus providing easy access to all the major travel hubs and tourist spots,” said Jinosh Thomas.
The hotel has a well-designed and impressive 1,608 Sq. ft. lobby with plenty of reading material (newspapers and magazines in English and local languages). The mix and match concept of décor of the lobby harmoniously blends with the specially designed marble flooring.
The hotel has 104 rooms offering three categories – 94 Superior Rooms, 6 Executive Rooms, and 4 Deluxe Suites. For F&B the hotel has a multi-cuisine all day dining restaurant, a bar, and a 24-hour coffee shop. The Periyar Restaurant is quite popular among guests and locals. The menu and spread is quite striking providing delicacies from around the world including a host of veg and non-veg options. The spacious restaurant with 72 covers is located on the second floor. Champs is the in-house restaurant that serves the choicest of spirits. The hotel features an outdoor pool and a spa where guests can unwind with holistic therapies and massages of Kerala Ayurveda. Having experienced the spa I had to admit the therapist truly helps you rejuvenate. The open air swimming pool overlooking the beautiful sky is ideal for your daily exercise or an evening party.
But the surprise was yet to come. As Jinosh Thomas and Joseph Skaria led me to the back of the hotel and I saw the convention center, I was in awe. It was massive and the first question that popped to my mind – why is it not well known among the hospitality fraternity, why has it not been promoted and on a global platform? Reading my mind Joseph Skaria said “We truly want promote it and look forward to seeking your guidance and tapping your vast experience.”
The hotel has a separate entrance for the convention center and also for the delegates who would like to stay on the premises – they have a hotel with quite a few large suites. Jinosh Thomas was kind enough to allow me to experience their new suite in the convention wing for the next night.
Banqueting facilities at this new convention center can cater up to 2000 floating crowd. There are basically three zones – Sabari Hall – Indoor 1500 seating or 2000 floating; Abhi Hall – Indoor 500 seating or 650 floating and Non-AC covered roof – Indoor 800 seating or 1200 floating. “Due to such a huge capacity it’s ideal for holding big conferences, award ceremony, celebrations, weddings or even a small exhibition. While we get lot local crowd we are keen on attracting corporates from across India and global companies to hold their mega events,” said Jinosh Thomas.
Gokulam Park & Convention Centre Kochi stands out as a beacon of hospitality and innovation. With its expansive convention facilities, luxurious accommodations, and commitment to excellence, it’s no wonder this venue is poised to become a top choice for both local events and international conferences alike. Whether you’re planning a corporate summit, a grand celebration, or simply seeking a tranquil retreat in Kochi, Gokulam Park & Convention Centre offers everything you need for a memorable stay.
