Nuju Uluwatu is now welcoming guests in Bali, joining Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ L.V.X. Collection and introducing a new adults only stay in Uluwatu focused on Indonesian culture, wellness, design, and lifestyle.

Located in one of Bali’s most sought-after destinations, the property draws inspiration from Indonesia’s diverse cultural landscape. Rather than representing one particular region, Nuju brings together influences from across the Indonesian archipelago through its architecture, interiors, art, craftsmanship, and curated guest experiences.

The name Nuju means “towards”, reflecting the property’s idea of moving towards new experiences and a deeper connection with Indonesia. From locally inspired design to wellness and dining, the resort encourages guests to discover the country through its traditions, creativity, nature, and everyday rituals.

As part of the L.V.X. Collection, Nuju joins a portfolio of independent hotels known for distinctive design, strong destination connections and individual approaches to hospitality.

“Nuju was created with a simple vision: to celebrate Indonesia through thoughtful hospitality,” said Yohanes Barlianto, General Manager of Nuju Uluwatu. “Joining Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ L.V.X. Collection allows us to share Nuju with a wider community while staying true to our connection with Indonesian culture, craftsmanship, and the people and places that shape it.”

The sense of place at Nuju Uluwatu begins with its architecture. Drawing from traditional Indonesian homes, the design combines natural materials, layered rooflines, gardens, and open spaces with contemporary comforts. The accommodation has been designed around different interpretations of Indonesia’s regions.

The One Bedroom Pool Suite and Two Bedroom Garden Pool Suite take inspiration from Western Indonesia, featuring green tones, handcrafted batik and carefully selected details. The One Bedroom Cabana and Two Bedroom Signature Pool Residence look towards Eastern Indonesia, using blue shades, woven textiles inspired by Flores, and distinctive design elements.

Across the resort, artworks, handcrafted furniture, decorative pieces and materials inspired by different parts of Indonesia highlight the work of artisans from across the archipelago. Guests can also experience Indonesian culture through activities based on living traditions, including batik painting, storytelling and traditional dance.

Wellness is an important part of the experience at this adults only resort in Uluwatu. The concept of balance runs through the property, bringing together wellbeing, lifestyle, privacy and opportunities for connection. Guests can make use of spa treatments, a sauna, cold plunge and fitness facilities, creating different ways to look after both body and mind during a Bali holiday.

The resort’s approach to wellness is also connected to Indonesian traditions, adding a cultural dimension to the experience rather than treating wellbeing as a standalone offering.

At the centre of Nuju is Sana, a social dining space serving Modern Australian cuisine with influences from across Asia. The restaurant follows a seasonal approach, with menus built around fresh ingredients and straightforward cooking. Sana is designed to transition throughout the day, with spaces including a lounge, indoor dining area, tropical garden and poolside setting.

The result is a dining experience that brings together contemporary cuisine and the vibrant flavours associated with Asia, while giving guests a relaxed place to gather throughout their stay.

Nuju Uluwatu adds another distinctive option to Bali’s growing luxury hospitality scene. Its adults-only setting, Indonesian-inspired architecture, cultural experiences, wellness facilities, and contemporary dining give travellers a different way to experience Uluwatu.

Rather than separating culture, wellbeing and hospitality, the resort brings them together throughout the guest experience, from the design of the suites and public spaces to the food, wellness programmes and cultural activities.

Now welcoming guests, Nuju Uluwatu offers travellers a stay shaped by the diversity of Indonesia, with the character of Bali providing the setting.

Nuju Uluwatu is an adults only destination in Uluwatu, Bali and a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ L.V.X. Collection. Inspired by the meaning of “nuju”, or “towards”, the property celebrates Indonesian culture, craftsmanship, nature, wellness and lifestyle through its design and guest experiences.

The resort features a collection of suites and residences, cultural activities, wellness facilities and Sana, its Modern Australian restaurant inspired by the flavours of Asia.
